Compassionate Therapy for Couples and Individuals
If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or ready for meaningful change, therapy can help. I offer a warm, supportive space for individuals and couples to explore life’s challenges and develop deeper self-understanding. My work focuses on helping clients recognize recurring patterns, navigate life transitions, and cultivate healthier, more fulfilling relationships.
Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy in Petaluma
Relationships thrive when partners feel safe, understood, and emotionally connected. As a trained Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) practitioner, I help couples identify the negative cycles that leave them feeling distant or misunderstood. Through EFT, couples learn to:
Recognize and de-escalate their recurring “dance” of conflict
Express core emotions and needs more openly
Rebuild trust and strengthen their bond through vulnerability and empathy
Whether you’re struggling with communication, adjusting to parenthood, healing from infidelity, or preparing for marriage, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy offers a path toward renewed connection.
Individual Counseling Tailored to Your Life and Goals
I provide individual therapy for adults seeking clarity, healing, and personal growth. Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, grief, self-esteem challenges, or the stress of major life changes like a career shift or loss, therapy can help you reconnect with your inner resilience.
In our sessions, we may work on:
Healing attachment wounds and improving relationships through attachment-focused work
Exploring emotions and underlying patterns through psychodynamic therapy
Increasing self-awareness and self-compassion using mindfulness-based techniques
Addressing trauma and body-based responses with somatic therapy
My approach is grounded, reflective, and focused on lasting change rather than quick fixes. I often work with high-functioning individuals who seem “fine” on the outside but feel disconnected, anxious, or unsatisfied within.
A Therapy Approach Rooted in Depth and Connection
I draw from a range of evidence-based models to meet each client’s unique needs, including:
Attachment Theory & Therapy – understanding how early relationships shape current emotional patterns
Psychodynamic & Object Relations Theory – exploring unconscious influences and internal conflicts
Somatic & Mindfulness-Based Therapy – connecting emotional awareness with the body’s wisdom
Humanistic and Compassion-Focused Therapy – fostering empathy, authenticity, and growth
My integrative approach supports both insight and action—helping you understand the “why” behind your struggles while developing tools to live more intentionally.
Growing Through Life Stage Transitions
I often work with clients during pivotal moments such as:
Adjusting to aging, relocation, or new responsibilities
Career or identity shifts
Coming together as a couple/moving in together
Parenting and fertility journeys
Grief, loss, or caregiving stress
These transitions often bring long-standing patterns or emotions to the surface—therapy offers a space to process and transform them.
Supervision and Consultation for Therapists
In addition to my clinical work, I provide supervision for AMFTs and consultation for licensed clinicians. Drawing on years of experience and advanced training through the Community Institute for Psychotherapy, I offer guidance grounded in ethics, self-reflection, and relational awareness.
