Couples Therapy
I work from an Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy perspective to explore your inner experience, emotions, and communication. Collaboratively helping couples to to more deeply understand their co-created relationship patterns and develop new patterns of interaction to increase their emotional bond and increase relationship security.
If I meet with one member of a couple for an individual session, I schedule an individual session with the other member of the couple to maintain a balanced therapeutic alliance.
Individual Therapy
Therapy has a natural flow of beginning, middle, and end: narrative, deepening experience, insight, transformation, and integration. We will discuss the stages along the way and will know the natural ending.
It has been my experience that meeting once-a-week deepens the process of therapy and assists in helpful outcomes. All sessions are by appointment and usually last 50 minutes. Couples often prefer a longer session and so we tend to schedule couples sessions for 75 minutes.
The first 4-5 weeks of therapy is an assessment period where we are determining goodness of fit. I want you to get the support you need! Let’s be talking along the way about whether you feel you’re benefitting from therapy as well as what’s working for you and what’s not.
